Tommy L. Coleman is responsible for prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases involving public corruption, financial fraud and organized crime. As a career prosecutor, he has successfully prosecuted members of the judiciary, elected officials and public servants who violated the public’s trust. Coleman, a former Non-commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserve and a National Defense Service Medal recipient, received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas Wesleyan University in 1996 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in 2000. His background includes serving as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, Assistant General Counsel to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Assistant District Attorney for Williamson County Texas and Staff Counsel for the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct. Coleman is also a former Williamson County Bar Association Director and a State Bar of Texas appointee to its Local Bar Services Committee. In addition to being licensed to practice law by the Texas Supreme Court, he is licensed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces and the Supreme Court of the United States. Coleman has volunteered his time and talent to numerous civic and philanthropic pursuits including Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas, Rotary International, a volunteer mission to a Costa Rican orphanage, former member of the Polk County Historical Commission, Habitat for Humanity of Polk County and a gubernatorial appointee to the State Board for Educator Certification.
